About Kyle Peters

After being laid off during the COVID-19 pandemic by a high-end residential architecture firm, I decided to make my dream of owning my own firm come to reality.

This dream started as a child, inspired by my aunt who is a local architect. As early as 5 years old, I was obsessed with drawing, building, and playing with her architecture models displayed throughout her home.

By the time I was 8 years old, my parents bought me my first home design software that I proudly designed homes in. Every summer after that I would beg my aunt to take me to work with her where I would learn the ins and outs of the trade, furthering my love and passion.

At 21, I graduated from Northampton Community College in Eastern Pennsylvania with a Associates Degree in Architecture. Wanting to further my education and return to my home state, I transferred to New School of Architecture and Design in San Diego, California and got my Bachelors in Architecture.

I currently live in Ramona, California, a small town in the mountains of San Diego County with my wife, two boys, and a German Shephard named Olive.

My Design Style and Passions

Bringing the Outdoors In:

If I'm not working, I'm usually outside with my family in our backyard, hiking or camping. Having traveled through the majority of the United States, I love to highlight the unique ecosystem and landscape surrounding the home in my designs. I truly believe that emphasizing natural light, fresh air and outdoor areas is the best design methodology.

Mid-Century Modern Architecture:

This popular design style has always been a favorite of mine after seeing the works of Frank Lloyd Wright. Combining natural elements like wood and stone with sleek, modern lines creates a comfortable and elegant look that can be enjoyed for years to come.

Modern Architecture:

My favorite design style is modern design for the clean, minimalistic that still makes an impact. I love to create a bold yet simple design that is functional and comfortable.

Functionality:

As a father, I understand how important it is to have a home that compliments your lifestyle. Maximizing the functionality of a home can streamline morning routines, minimize clutter, and allow for more quality time together.

Comfortability:

Playing into the functionality aspect, your home needs to be functional but also comfortable. Your home should feel welcoming and relaxing. This can be done by proper organization methods, encouraging natural light and neutral tones.

Sustainability:

As an avid outdoorsman, I design my homes with sustainability in mind. I do this by selecting local materials as often as possible and supporting local, independently owned businesses for furnishing projects. Not only do I try to select local materials, but I opt for the best materials that will last longest, even if that means local may not be the best. Whenever possible, I try to encourage my clients to be choose the best sustainable features such as solar, radiant heating, etc.

Furniture Building:

Nothing is more annoying than buying a brand new dining room table from the store, just to have it immediately ruined by water damage because it's built from cheap materials. This reason alone is why I have gotten into wood working and have built a lot of my own furniture.
